Henbane has a rich history as a potent sedative and antispasmodic, largely because of its impact on the parasympathetic nervous system. In contemporary medicine, it is mainly valued for its hyoscyamine content, which is used to treat motion sickness and various symptoms of Parkinson's disease.

This intriguing plant seems to inhabit two realms: the tangible and the mystical. Its uniquely beautiful flowers and unpleasant odour create a complex and sometimes disconcerting connection. Historically, henbane's ability to provoke hallucinations and altered states of consciousness made it a key ingredient in "flying ointments," used by female shamans and witches to embark on journeys to different dimensions. However, we strongly advise against using henbane for such purposes, as it is highly toxic, and improper use can lead to severe, potentially fatal consequences.

Henbane tends to thrive more robustly when grown indoors rather than outside. Just a caution: the fragrant scents of other plants in a greenhouse may quickly be overshadowed by the strong odors and otherworldly nature of this remarkable herb.
